Weeoow. Mworrp. Bleomp. Nothing sounds quite like a 303. Enthralled by its mysterious timbre, a band of daredevil explorers travels far and wide in search of the secrets of its squelchy goodness. Real Grooves invites you to tag along on these Adventures in Acid.
Meet the team:
Stalwart String Methods (USA) leads the way with the mesmerising “Ansatz”. The newcomer’s debut release sees rousing chords and rugged drums give way to an enchanting acid melody that will frolic in your head for days.
“Crypt” is a typically unruly affair from the Intrepid Information Flash (FR). With haphazard hardware drums, whirlwind synths and surely the squelchiest 303 of 2018, you’ll want to hold on to your hat for this one.
After 2016’s storming “Encounter” EP on Endless Illusion, Daredevil Dircsen (DE) steps up to Real Grooves with the moody “In My Zone”. A squirming 303 lurks over slow, syncopated kicks for some proper eyes-down atmospherics.
Endeavouring Ed Knight (NL) (a new alias of a certain Dutch techno wunderkind) brings the journey home in proper raucous style. “Westzeedijk Acid Incidents Part 3” is 8 minutes of hardware grit, recorded live in one take with an acid line that really bites.
